About Us

About The College of Continuing and Professional Education

The purpose of the California State University, Dominguez Hills, College of Continuing and Professional Education is to expand the resources of the University to better serve the communities of which we are a part. To serve this purpose, we offer professional, academic, and lifelong learning opportunities on our campus in Carson, California, in neighborhood classrooms in the South Bay, and via distance learning to students throughout the world. Currently, the college serves approximately 15,000 students per year.

CCPE Mission and Vision

Professional coursework includes degree and certificate programs designed to enhance your professional standing, allow you to change careers, or enable you to enter the job market.

Academic programs include traditional degree, certificate and credential programs and individual courses. Often these programs are delivered via distance learning technologies.

Lifelong Learning courses and programs are designed to enhance your quality of life. These include individual courses of interest, learning in retirement programs, lectures, and Open University.

Open University, Winter Session, Spring Intersession and Summer Sessions allow students to take regular University Courses at CSU Dominguez Hills without formal admission to the University.

Lifelong Learning courses and programs are designed to enhance your quality of life. These include educational travel, individual courses of interest, learning in retirement programs, lectures, and Open University.

The OSHA Training Institute Education Center at California State University, Dominguez Hills is one of 26 such centers in the country, and the only one based in the Los Angeles area. The center provides occupational safety and health training to help organizations comply with both federal and California standards.

Currently, the college serves approximately 17,000 students per year.
