After You're Accepted

Have you received an offer of admission? If you have, then there are a few things you need to complete before you can join our Toro family. It is important to read through the next steps of enrollment and complete all the requirements by the deadlines. 

But first, have you checked out the transformation our campus is currently undergoing? New state-of-the-art facilities include: the Library Building, the Science & Innovation Building, Innovation & Instruction Building, and Student Housing Building.

Undergraduate Students Starting Fall 2023

Log into our MyCSUDH account and review your "To Do" list and your "Holds" list. Please pay attention to all deadlines and complete items on your dashboard checklist.

Students outside the U.S. will need to Zoom with our IT Department to set up their passwords. To do so, no appointment is needed, login to the Zoom anytime between 9am - 6pm PDT.

Please have your official sealed documents (still in their unopened original envelope from the issuing authority) mailed to our office or bring them with you to orientation before the semester begins.

Students Transferring from a U.S. Institution

 

Students Already on an F-1 Student Visa Transferring to CSUDH

Step 1

Transfer your I-20: Request your current school to transfer your I-20 record to CSUDH. School code: LOS214F00655000.

Step 2

Log into our MyCSUDH student account and review your "To Do" list and "Holds" list. Please pay attention to all deadlines and complete items on your dashboard checklist. 

Step 3

Purchase Health Insurance:

Step 4

Graduate Students: RSVP to the Mandatory International Student Orientation (iss@ngskmc-eis.net).

Undergraduate Students: In your MyCSUDH student portal, complete your Intent to Enroll, pay the deposit of $125 towards your registration fees. Sign-up for the New Student Orientation (NSO) and pay the $99 orientation fee.

Fall 2023 deadline (undergraduates only): May 1st, 2023. 

Step 5

Graduate Students: Contact your program advisor for the course plan.

Undergraduate Students: Sign up for your academic pre-orientation session, which is where you complete your academic counseling and class registration.

Step 6

Arrange for housing accommodations:

Attend the Mandatory Orientation on August 23, 2023. Documents are due BEFORE the orientation (click here for a list of required documents).

Students Outside the U.S. (need F-1 Student Visa)

Before Arriving in the U.S.

We've gathered some information in order to make your move to the U.S. as easy as possible. Review the following tips on student visas, travel information, housing, and CSUDH registration.

 

Preparing Your Immigration Documents

Enrolling in Classes

Step 1

Review your I-20 form:
Contact International Admissions immediately if a correction is needed at int-admissions@ngskmc-eis.net 
Log into our MyCSUDH account and review your "To Do" list and your "Holds" list. Please pay attention to all deadlines and complete items on your dashboard checklist. Here's a YouTube tutorial video about creating a username.

Step 2

Pay the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) I-901 fee ("SEVIS fee"): www.fmjfee.com

Information:
School Code: LOS214F00655000
SEVIS Identification Number: Number on top upper left side beginning with an "N."

Print out two receipts and present one at the visa interview with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Keep the other receipt for your records.

Step 3

Contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to schedule a visa appointment: www.usembassy.gov

Graduate Students: Contact your program advisor for the course plan.

Undergraduate Students: Sign up for your academic pre-orientation session for academic counseling and registration.

Step 4

Gather documents needed for the visa interview: Valid passport, I-20 form from CSUDH, SEVIS fee receipt (printed out), and financial documents.

Undergraduate Students: In your My.CSUDH.edu portal, complete your Intent to Enroll, pay the deposit of $125 towards your registration fees. Step 5

Prepare for the interview:
The visa interview is a short conversational interview. You have to explain why you want to study in the U.S., and how you will pay for school costs and living expenses.
Arrange for housing accommodations near the campus:

Step 6

Plan arrival date and place:
The earliest time you can enter the U.S. 30 days prior to the program start date on your I-20. Please make travel arrangements carefully.
Arrange transportation from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to your lodging.

Step 7

Carry your documents with you on the airplane. Keep your passport, F-1 visa, CSUDH I-20 form, SEVIS I-901 fee receipt, financial documents, and the CSUDH admission letter with you.
